Chappie

Chappie is the star of this post (though photos below will include his best friends Pugrish and Mr. Kitty!) He wears a fashionable tuxedo and unique nose marking, as seen below.

Chappie is a happy chap! He's definitely got my husband's grandmother figured out (hah), between the cuddles he receives when he drapes himself across her at night (usually sporting the love eyes below),

to the treats and treats and treats he gets for coming inside when she calls - he is definitely one happy chappie! But it's not why we called him so. My husband's sister thinks it's because his nose looks like it has a Charlie Chaplin mustache! haha but that would be a no as well (though it was a generally good and cleaver guess!)

No, Chappie got his name because when I found him tiny and malnourished on the trail by our house, the movie Chappie had just come out (this was in 2015). Anyway, Chappie has always looked up to his surrogate brothers, Mr. Kitty and Pugrish. Here's a photo of the three of them sleeping in the three cat beds I made them, side by side by side (the way they like it). Chappie used to try getting in a cat bed with Pugrish but soon grew too big for it lol.

And below are a series of playful fighting between (and instigated by) Chappie versus Pugrish (who basically would just let it happen and in the end would just groom his baby once the baby calmed down lol)

You can tell in the photo below Pugrish I saying "Are you done?" and Chappie is thinking "....fine...." hah!

Chappie really was spoiled growing up, considering he could have lived outside for life (though when we found him he was very, very malnourished!), but instead he found a loving home, loving people, many treats, siblings and one sibling in particular that loved and groomed him always! ❤

Persian

Introducing Persian - the very first kitty I rescued. Here is a photo from 2009 of me and Persian (she's a chocolate point Siamese cat who I called Persian because I was confused (I was 10! lol)).

I rescued her when I was about 10 or 11. I was walking down my street with my friend and little sister, when I heard a very audible meowing. I found this kitty meowing her heart out at a door, so I did the only sensible thing (what I thought was sensible at the time - oh the innocence of a child!) and picked her up and knocked on the door. When a man answered, I asked; "Is this your kitty? She wants in." to which he so delicately responded; "It belonged to the people who lived here before and if she doesn't go away soon, I'll shoot her!" (or some variation of those words - this was back in 2000/2001 ish era so forgive me if it isn't exact) Well, I was astonished at his brashness and horrified, to say the least! I grasped the kitty tighter to my chest and departed from his driveway. I walked home (like four doors down) and hide her in my basement, which my little sister and I managed to do for about 4 days until my dad on the fifth day in the living said; "Do you hear meows? I hear something meowing." I denied it of course but he was certain and when he discovered her in the basement he laughed because for a minute, he thought he was going crazy! 😆

In the end, he let us keep her! She likes to meow (obviously why the man wanted her to departed but come on, she just wanted love!). She loooooves being pet, she will literally paw you to death in order to get her pets (and the pawing doesn't stop once she gets what she wants!)

In the photo above, I blurred my younger sister's (my partner in crime) face out of respect as she probably doesn't know I've posted this photo on my blog lol.

Persian was my second childhood kitty, right after my first ever kitty Mittens (who will make an appearance in the next post!), and my first ever rescue! This is where it all started! I love her so much, she is such a blessing, an amazingly loving cat, always with a song to sing! ❤

Miss Kitty

Where to begin. It's been a very, very long time since I've written/typed that name - it could never be so long that I would forget it, and no matter the length, it will always hurt. As you've gather, she is no longer with us, but this blog is not meant to make you sad, therefore, from now on I will forgo mentioning which of these fine chaps are gone or still with us and just present each of them and their adorable personalities in the present to make you (and me) smile!

And so, here is my beautiful girl,

And here are some pictures of her from when she was a kitten 😍

In the photo above you can see her left eye is a bit glassy. The vet said it was something that happened to her around when she was born, but it never seemed to impede anything she did, thankfully!

In the one below she found a dish outside that was turned onto its side and butted up against the deck wall ... seems like the perfect place for a cat nap!! 😆

In the photo above you can see her nose really well. I have yet to come across another kitty with such a similar nose. Her nose is very orange, rather than pink, and is outlined so well with her dark brown markings, it's really interesting!

She's a beautiful girl who loves being outside but never strays from the property of her own volition. One of her favourite places is to hunt and sleep in the garden alongside me when I am working in there - I love the company!

Miss Kitty loves taking care of other cats. She isn't a mother herself (we get all our rescues spayed or neutered) but has a younger brother from another litter (Mr. Kitty) who she enjoys caring for and showing/teaching the ropes. She's taught him to sleep on the back of the big comfy recliner, something which Mr. Kitty still does to this day - it's actually quite comical to see his face when my husband's grandma reclines the chair not realizing he's up there 😌😹 but not to worry, he always manages to stay on just fine and goes right back to his cat nap!

She loves attention and loves to give attention to humans and other cats alike. She is the best kitty! I love her with all my heart. ❤❤❤

It is only fitting that she should be the first, though she technically isn't the first cat I rescued, she is, however, the first cat I rescued here in the country where I have lived for over 10 years. My next post will be about the first cat I ever rescued when I was about 11 years old - Persian!
